Creating a Sacred Space

TRUTH: Sacred space replenishes our body, mind and soul.

The most important YIN room in the house is your bedroom. It’s a sanctuary for rest, sleep, play, dress and for your dreams. Thus it’s important to create sacred space in this room by balancing the 5 elements and incorporating soft, clean, fresh fabrics, (high thread count) linens, pillows, comforters and sleep wear. Creating a Zen-like environment without clutter, without loud noise, without harsh colors and/or offensive scents/odors allows the body, mind and soul to replenish itself at the cellular level.

TIP: The ideal YIN bedroom is one that is void of kitty litter, dirty clothes, offensive artwork, computers, files and exposed electronic wires and TVs. Soft (romantic) music or a fountain is appropriate and healing for cellular rejuvenation.

INTENTION: I am soothed, healed and embraced by gentle Chi – ENERGY – in my bedroom. I awake rested and refreshed, to take on the world in a powerful and empowering way.

Feng Shui Peace, Harmony and Prosperity

Question: I want more peace and harmony in my life, yet still be successful at the same time. How can I accomplish this?

Answer: Feng Shui is about creating MORE peace, harmony and balance in one's life. It's akin to the age old question... "what came first, the chicken or the egg?" In Feng Shui, the environment ALWAYS comes first. When your environment supports you, good fortune and success follow.

Creating a peaceful and harmonically balanced environment takes in to consideration two Chinese principles: YIN/YANG and the Five Elements. Yin/Yang refers to the right combination of polarities... i.e. light/dark, soft/hard, active/passive energies within a space. The five elements in what we call a "productive" cycle is what makes us say: "Ahhhh... this feels good – I could stay here forever."

For more information on how to properly use these two principles and how to lift the energy in your environment to support you and your business, click to have a Feng Shui Consultation or check out our other Audio Programs.

Feng Shui T- Intersections

Question: My main door office faces two streets. Is this bad fengshui? What should I do to improve it?

Answer: To face two streets at the same time sounds like your office is located at a 'T' intersection or crossing. If so, this may not necessarily be a bad thing. Most people know that a house located at a T intersection is BAD Feng Shui and VERY difficult on the lives of the occupants.

However, the opposite is true for alot of businesses such as retail stores, real estate companies and/or a service related businesses such as restaurants and hotels, where we want active Chi – people's buying power – flowing "into" the business. Conversely, it would not be a good location for a re-hab, yoga center, school, library, church or cemetary where peace, healing and/or safety is the primary objective.

To remedy this situation is not easy to accomplish in a commercial location, unless you own the building and can build a birm, wall or can place a statue/fountain to block the agressive Chi. If you do not own the building, then I suggest you decorate the inside of your office with furniture that blocks or slows down the flow of energy.

Feng Shui and Relationships

Question: I would like to know what can we do to enhance our relationship and married life?

Answer: I suggest reading the article I wrote on LOVE IN THE BEDROOM; it will help you Feng Shui your environment for love, commitment and bonding. I also recommend listening to your "personal" FENG SHUI ELEMENT audio.

In Classical Feng Shui there are 8 elements not 5, and each element has it's own unique DNA, personality and body knowing. When you understand and learn how to communicate with people, elementally, it will change the dynamic of your relationships and life forever. In addition, you will also learn which properties support you environmentally and which ones deplete you of your health and resources. By the way, this Classical school of Feng Shui has created more millionaires and billionaires than all the other schools combined!

Feng Shui Element audios are powerfully informative, fun and inexpensive gifts to give to friends and family throughout the year & during the holiday season. You can click the link at the right to read the article, then onto "Discover your Feng Shui Element" to listen to an excerpt of your unique DNA.

Feng Shui Bagua

Question: If a room (bedroom) is completely outside the bagua how do I bring it into the bagua with mirrors (placed inside or outside the room) and does this change the placement of the bagua?

Answer: If a room falls outside the Ba-gua and is less than 50% of the width of the property, it is considered an "extension," and a remedy is not necessary. In Western Ba-gua Feng Shui, an extension is a PLUS as it expands the gua area it protrudes from... the opposite is true of a "missing" corner. However, I would not recommend a mirror for either situation.

The Ba-gua for an apartment, condo, house or commercial building never changes unless "major" reconstruction is done to the property. If a "remodel" is done in a different construction period than the original property, then a separate Ba-gua is required for the "addition." Before or after a remodel, you may want to call our office for a one hour phone consultation to review, remedy and/or enhance your property. Also, a phone or email "Yeah/Nay" consultation is recommended prior to purchasing "any" property.

Feng Shui vs. Chinese Superstition

Question: I have many cures in my home and nothing is working. I have wind chimes on the porch, two "fu dogs" at the front door, a wind chime in a long hallway, a crystal over the couch, a money frog, a money pot, red tape under the bathroom sink, and still no luck. My money seems to be washing down the drain. My finances are getting smaller while my debts are increasing. What can I change and what am I doing wrong?

Answer: Sad to say none of the above mentioned items and/or placements have anything to do with creating spatial harmony and balance, nor are they related to Feng Shui. You are embracing Chinese cultural beliefs and icons that may or may not work, even if you are Chinese.

If you have read more than one book on Feng Shui, confusion is likely to occur. Simply stated, Feng Shui is the study of ENERGY and how energy flows in, around and through an environment. To achieve balance, harmony and good fortune in your life, I suggest that you start by space-clearing your environment first (removing clutter and debris). Next, you will want to learn how to apply Feng Shui principles, correctly, to your home and work environment.

The Flow of Chi

TRUTH: Like the Tao, Chi likes to FLOW effortlessly to the entrance door.

The pathway to your home and office represents the "River of Wealth." You will want to avoid Sha Chi activity in this area – i.e. straight, narrow and/or dark pathways. Chi.. ENERGY... likes to meander gently to the mouth of Chi (entrance door).

The path should be free and clear of debris, dead and dying plants, old door mats, cigarette containers, trash cans and children's toys. The pathway to your door should also weave like a river, so that it can bring wealth, health and good fortune to all occupants.

TIP: To remedy a straight pathway, stagger pots of plants (red flowers) to the door, or remove approximately 12-18 inches of grass and create the illusion of a river filled with FIRE colored plants, flowers, bark or stones, to ignite your career and wealth.

INTENTION: The river of wealth flows gently to my door. I am on Fire in a positive, productive and abundant way. Everything I seek, seeks me now!

Feng Shui Remedies

Question: My house faces east. When it rains, water runs under my house and I have to pump it out to the sewer and away from my home. Behind my backyard is a landscaping company that mixes soil all year around. How can I know how the environment is affecting my family? My family suffers from too much tension, joint problems, depression, and financial struggles. Is there a way to fix these problems?

Answer: "Negative" environmental factors are the most challenging issues to overcome in Feng Shui. More than 95% of the time, it's near impossible to change or make the environment go away; however, you can do things to help mitigate its effects. From your description, I believe the problems you are experiencing as a family are related to both your inner and outer environments.

I wish I could give you a "quick fix" remedy, but I cannot without knowing more about the occupants, the shape of the lot, the floor plan, how the house sits on the lot, the location of the lot within the subdivision or neighborhood along with interior and exterior photos. An accurate compass degree reading is also useful, to determine the "unseen" energy that may be affecting your health and well being as well.

When an individual or family experiences "multiple" issues i.e..emotional, mental, physical and/or financial challenges at the same time, it's wise to consult with a Feng Shui professional on site or by phone. If this is not financially feasible, then you will want to learn how to remedy the above on your own by reading books from the library or taking a thorough course study of Feng Shui that includes remedies and enhancement for lots, land, floor plans and locations, as well as enhancements for individuals.

Our self-study, do it at your own pace, Feng Shui Certification course contains a wealth of information not found in books anywhere. STANDARD CERTIFICATION is available to individuals and/or professionals in all fields. PREMIUM CERTIFICATION is for real estate professionals only. The benefits derived from these dynamic audio, graphic and print programs are "immeasurable" in terms of the skill and knowledge acquired to improve one's health, wealth, balance, communication and peace of mind. In addition, you will learn how to identify "good" lots, locations, buildings, floor plans and environments as well as those to avoid. It's also the hottest sales and marketing program available in real estate, on how to market and sell property in optimum time.

If you prefer to learn at a slower pace, we highly recommend taking advantage of FENG SHUI EMPOWERMENT; a fun, fast and easy to learn Feng Shui audio program that teaches you step-by-step how to Feng Shui properly. In addition, as our way of supporting your continued education, we will credit you back 100% of your original purchase towards enrollment in CERTIFICATION within 90 days.

Feng Shui for the Home

Question: I am a Western group person. My bed faces east. To face one of my best directions I would put the head of my bed under a window. What do you suggest?

Answer: Regardless what you have read, if health and well-being are valued priorities in your life, I would do it! Simply add a strong "backing" to support you... i.e. "wood" blinds or shutters on the window. Another option is to add an Asian screen or padded headboard for protection. (visit www.ChiQuiz.biz to discover your best health and career directions).

Question: My husband and I work out of our home. We homeschool 2 of our 4 children, I am a Realtor and my husband owns a Home Re-Hab business. I am a pack rat. We do not have many closets and we have 3 inside dogs, 1 bird, and 2 outside dogs. Our home is a disaster clutter-wise, but we have very nice things (furniture, appliances, etc). My husband and I are sick and the kids are unhappy. HELP!

Answer: I suggest that you de-clutter every room in your house, so that EVERYTHING in your life can improve. Worst case scenario, a monthly rental storage unit is a small price to pay for you and your family's health, wealth and peace of mind.

Question: My master bath is in the center of my home. I became sick after moving in. How can I correct this problem?

Answer: A Feng Shui problem like this is difficult to remedy. Without knowing what the "unseen" energy is in the heart of your home (which requires a consultation), I would recommend using the realm of INTENTION to hurdle the situation. On a piece of paper you can write: "I am unaffected by the bathroom in the heart of my home. My house supports my life and health in every wonderful and blessed way," and place it in the HEALTH gua area of your home. Please keep in mind, for intention to work, you must eliminate fear, doubt and worry. Thus affirmation, meditation and/or daily prayer is also recommended.

General Feng Shui

Question: In your CD you say that no two people interpret Feng Shui the same. How can there be any validity in it then?

Answer: This is a good question. It's similar to NO "two" professionals teaching math, science, art, or social studies the same way, or any two REALTORS showing or selling property the same way – let alone finding two economists that agree. The bottom line is, if you have faith and confidence in your teacher-professional you will learn, and if he or she is respected and has a "proven" track record, you will BENEFIT.

Question: My husband is a Metal Pig (ha ha) His birthday when I looked it up on your site, says that he is Earth. In every book that i have consulted and internet information has confirmed that his element is Metal. I was wondering if maybe you have made a mistake? His birthday is March 31 1971.

Answer: Your husband is the element Mother Earth. Unfortunately, you are confusing Chinese astrology with Feng Shui. One's personal element in Feng Shui is based on the "solar" calendar that includes different math formulas for males and females. The "Metal-Pig" is based on a different predictive art called Chinese Astrology which uses the lunar calendar. Unfortunately, many errors appear in Feng Shui charts, books and teachings due to this misunderstanding.

Question: I have 2 double story houses on either side of my 1 story house. People tell me that it is a good thing, because they act as 2 big ears, whilst others tell me that it is a bad thing, because they absorb all the good energy and fortune from you. Which is true?

Answer: I have never heard the term "big ears" used before, but I happen to disagree with most books written on the subject. In my opinion, a two story house on each side of your home (acts like a hill or small mountain) – providing you with the Green Dragon and White Tiger. A house behind and in front. provides the Tortoise and Phoenix. The Chinese refer to these as "Celestial Animals" of support and protection. It is also commonly known as the PERFECT Feng Shui formation, or ARM CHAIR position.

Feng Shui Houses

TOPIC: Feng Shui Houses

********************************

********************************

QUESTION: Our house was constructed in the month of January. Just want to ask how the Feng Shui is for our home?

ANSWER: I would need to know the year of construction, and the compass "facing and sitting" degrees of your home to be able to tell you what kind of house you own.

In classical Feng Shui there are four kinds of houses (structures or buildings). They are:

  • Houses that support PEOPLE
  • Houses that support MONEY
  • Houses that DO NOT support people or money
  • Houses of GOOD FORTUNE - that support both people and money

In my professional opinion, 70% or more of the above types of properties can be remedied and enhanced to become houses "almost as good" as houses of ... GOOD FORTUNE!

The remaining 30% can usually (but not always) be improved by 50% or better, which is actually a HUGE improvement, considering how difficult the "energy" of these homes are ... on the health, happiness, relationships and/or finances of the occupants.

To determine which "type" of Feng Shui house you have requires a "classical" Feng Shui consultation, as each property contains its own unique energy blueprint based on math calculatons. Click the consultation link above for more information, or order Feng Shui 2010 to learn about classical Feng Shui.

QUESTION: WHICH direction should I hang family photos?

ANSWER: The perfect placement would be in the "children, spirituality or family" gua areas of your home. However, groupings of photos are lovely on hallway walls as well.

QUESTION: Is a house near an electrical power system bad Feng Shui?

ANSWER: YES. YES. YES!

It's possible to remedy and enhance some "glaring" environmental conditions, but this is one that is extremely difficult, at best, to accomplish. It is also one that is very hard on the emotional and physical HEALTH and well being of nearby residents.

STOP STRUGGLING - LEARN HOW TO WORK SMART TODAY!

"Since my consultation with you 3 weeks ago, I've been planning and implementing what I learned. It was a bit overwhelming at first, because you covered a lot of territory. However, already good things are happening! I got 2 new listings, 2 new referrals and I just sold and closed a Bank of America short sale property in less than one month - which is unheard of! I am excited!!!

Thank you for the business consult - it's just what I needed to get centered and focused!"

Feng Shui Tips

Question: I live in a split foyer house and the first thing you see when you come up the stairs is the kitchen. What do I need to do? I have been told the kitchen should not be the first thing to see when you enter a house?

Answer: You can add a tall plant, Asian screen or furniture between the entrance door and kitchen, to slow down and to redirect Chi... energy.

Question: My wife and I are having a friendly dispute in our kitchen about keeping a nice set of kitchen knives out on the counter. I cook a lot and find it convenient to have them out and always within reach for chopping vegetables etc. She maintains that it is bad Feng Shui and the knives should be put away behind cupboard doors. I argue that our kitchen has been full of good energy and happiness for years and it is much more convenient to have them out on the counter. What would be the opinion of a Feng Shui expert?

Answer: From a Feng Shui perspective it is bad Feng Shui to leave knives exposed. However, I'm smiling because in my city home I have the knives put away, and in my mountain home I have them out on the counter. So, I'm probably not the best Feng Shui consultant to ask!

The reason for hiding knives is strictly based on health and SAFETY. So, if you are a family that is in balance, and are just having a "friendly dispute," and/or do not live in a high risk (crime) area, then you should be fine either way. Nonetheless, you will want to trust your gut on this one!

Question: Where is the gua area of my home?

Answer: Typically a house has 9 gua areas, and 9 gua areas divide each room inside a house as well. You can learn how to use the Ba-gua (9 gua areas) correctly in our FENG SHUI EMPOWERMENT program.

Feng Shui for the Holidays

RED is a great Chi (ENERGY) enhancer. Instead of candy this year, make a healthy choice and surround your inner and outer environment with nature's beautiful RED Poinsettia plant. Not only will you save hundreds of calories, but you will also lift your spirit with grace, harmony and beauty at the same time. If you cannot afford to purchase plants, then you can always add red apples, pomegranates and/or cranberries. They make wonderful Chi enhancers... scents that freshen space.

If you are a REALTOR®, instead of advertising this month, BLITZ your listings with COLOR by placing a dozen or so RED poinsettia plants in gold and/or red foil inside and outside each of your listings. Not only will this Feng Shui enhancement increase the prospects for more buyer activity, but it will also endear your sellers to you throughout the New Year!

DE-CLUTTER NOW: Unfortunately, sadness, depression and lethargy exists, for many people. during the holiday season. One way to prevent "negative" energy (Sha Chi) from over shadowing you during the holiday season, is to embrace JOY by de-cluttering your environment. If you find yourself feeling hollow, empty, lonely and/or lost, immediately start cleaning and clearing out "clutter" and "stuff" inside your closets, cupboards, drawers, car, office, briefcase, garage and home.

Also, this is a wonderful time of year to be charitable. Think about inviting your office, friends, family, and children to space clear their belongings and to GIFT away box loads of "stuff" to charity before the New Year. This is a great way to immediately turn low energy blues into positive energy Highs. HAPPY music also helps to lift our spirits, so play fun music while you work. Make a game of it. See who can pack-up the most boxes, to GIFT away, the Fastest!

LESS is MORE...INNER - G: "G" stands for Goodness, Generosity, Graciousness, Greatness, Grace, Glory and God. This year consciously try gifting "less" by selecting a few healthy and/or quality gifts that enrich and/or help to heal your friends, family, pets and loved ones. Material things are dense, and thus they calibrate well below 200 in terms of energy. Our goal as spiritual human beings is to elevate our personal Chi... ENERGY – so that we become magnets for Happiness and Joy. Raising our personal energy to this state of grace increases the prospects for health, wealth, love, and opportunity. It also allows us to open up our HEART center, so that we can extend mercy and forgiveness to others, and to ourselves.

Feng Shui, the study of ENERGY, transforms Consciousness... Man's humanity to man and to the Earth.

Feng Shui Sleeping Positions

Question: I am searching for a remedy to correct the position of head placement while sleeping to no avail. I am a west person, and my head faces east while sleeping. I have no other bed arrangements for my room to correct this. Are there any remedies for this? I would appreciate any help or tip you can give.

Answer: The human body is like a compass that is constantly trying to align with compatible energy in the Universe. Based on an ancient math calculation, each human being has 4 "Empowering" and 4 "Depleting" ENERGY directions. When we honor our best directions at work, at play, at study, and during sleep, our body is able to replenish and re-energize itself.

A simple solution to your situation, is to sleep at the opposite end of the bed at night, which would be West! However, it's advisable to place an Asian screen, furniture and/or a pillow behind your head to protect you while you sleep, if you are exposed to open space. (click here to find out your best health and sleep directions www.ChiQuiz.biz )

Question: I have been told that when you are in bed lying down and your feet are directly pointing at the door it is bad for that person or a 'death position.' Can you enlighten me about the good/bad of having your feet point this way? If it is bad, how can this be remedied if the bed must remain in its current position?

Answer: You are correct; it is not considered "healthy" or "safe" Feng Shui. This is referred to as the "coffin" position. If possible, try to move the bed to one side of the room out of direct alignment with your bedroom door. You will also want to keep the door closed when you sleep to slow down chi...energy.

ENERGY is POWERFUL – it can "stream or scream" through doors, walls and even mountains, like a breeze or like a tornado!
